Now You Too Can Understand Shakespeare. We start the project by releasing a new series of books in the Shakespeare Translated series. For the first time collected in one volume, Shakespeare’s original play side-by-side with an accurate line-by-line modern English translation, along with stage directions, study notes and historical facts to aid understanding.
The original innuendos, political satire, puns and bawdy humour are retained, bringing the works to life for scholars, students, actors prepping for a performance, or lovers of the works to enjoy today without flicking back and forth for lengthy explanations. Additional study notes by former QI researchers and modern translation verified by historical consultant to the BBC and major movie companies.
As an eight year old boy, SJ Hills read the first part of a simplified version of Macbeth in a children's comic. He rushed to the library to finish the story only to learn he couldn't understand the original work. So began a lifelong dream of making Shakespeare understandable for all, down the the smallest detail, enlisting the help of the world's most renowned researchers from BBC TV series, QI, to aid him.
The most accurate translation available, alongside original English, stage directions, historical, political and bawdy usage notes and more.

"Amazing Translation
I wish this author had more Shakespeare books translated. Having the translation made it much more enjoyable to read along with all the notes the author incorporates to teach you about Shakespeare's style of writing in addition to the historical events that inspired his writings based on things like who was going to be watching the play."

"Really accurate translation, well written, and very useful in-line notes about how Shakespeare's writing was influenced by historical, political and current affairs of the time, which makes sense of key speeches that otherwise seem baffling. The best book to follow and understand the text and the play overall.
Highly recommended."

We know the plays, we know the plots, we know who gets the girl and who gets killed, but do we really understand the texts to Shakespeare's works fully?
The simple answer is - no.
Unless you are a scholar who studied the language of Elizabethan England and understands the current affairs of that period in history, the innuendos, the slang and have a good knowledge of classic literature in general, you would only have a superficial understanding. The intricacies and the cleverness of the language would be skimmed over.
There are translations of the lines into more understandable English, but until now these have fallen short of delivering the power of the original lines, and certainly the many political references and bawdy quips are ignored. The clever puns and the rhymes are skipped too in a clinical translation of the works.
Interactive Shakespeare brings the original work to life via differing mediums; Books, Audio Drama, full length Movies and our unique Interactive App. The translations at the core of the project were written for actors to act, not as a lifeless academic text to wade through. What’s more, we present each section of the play fully acted out in full cinematic style in both the original language and in a modern line-by-line translation so the two can be compared side by side.
